Craft Beer Heaven at the NYC Craft Beer Festival!

So on a sunny little day in March, I journeyed to a lovely large place that had a wonderful sign posted outside the front welcoming craft beer enthusiasts from all regions of the states.

As I walk into the Lexington Armory – I stop dead in my tacks.

I look to my co-worker and said, “I think we found beer heaven.”

She agreed and we made our grand entrance into the wild brew-gallery of the most unique and delicious crafts beers New York City has ever seen.

Now, as a young millennial, I am searching for the latest and greatest in the craft beer world. I admit that cider is my go-to treat, but after this festival my brew-knowledge was lifted to a whole new level of deliciousness.

The House of Shandy – Curious Traveler

And of course…

Angry Orchard! But I already tried that one C;

Moving on, we grabbed ourselves the most delicious pretzel I have ever had. No seriously, this pretzel must have been caressed by the most delicious beers while baking to a crisp.

I obviously could not contain myself and started eating before I snapped a picture. #sorrynotsorry

Many of the tables had a representative from the brewing company! I was able to meet the representative for Angry Orchard and I could not be more exited. I give the festival a 4.5 out of a 5 start rating – the only thing I would have liked to see is the similar beers/ciders near each other to make it a little easier to navigate, other than that it was a complete success!

When the day was over we left with our complementary beer/shot glass, we were absolutely over the moon and left with wonderful memories of delicious craft beers.

I will be attending next year and already can’t wait!

Seriously, do not miss out. I will see you there! (:

You will see me again soon, my good Sir’s.

How to Drink Beer Like a Sir: Raise Your Glass

So you want to drink beer like a Sir, eh?

Well you’ve clicked on the right blog!

After reading the introduction to this serious of swag-ness, you are now ready to proceed to the next step: Raising Your Glass

Did you really think you could just drink any old can or glass of beer and magically obtain the qualities of a Sir? I think not.

The second rule of drinking beer like a Sir is to always drink from a sir-worthy glass.

Now, thanks to Beer Advocate we can review and understand why the following glasses are more than just sir-worthy. Beer Advocate also displays the beers that go best with each glass!

Beer Advocate, you deserve a Sir-tificate for Raising your Glass.

sir-tificate

So why does the glass matter?

Because sir-worthy beers deserve sir-worthy glasses.

You would never see a delicious Stella Artois at its full potential being enjoyed from silly little can, would you? Maybe the glass bottle that it comes in…but there are exceptions when it comes to football season and other outing events. BUT when you’re in the comfort of your own quarters enjoying a spectacular Stella Artois, YOU ARE NOT going to settle for the glass it’s packaged in.

No Sir!

You are a strong, independent lad or lass and you TAKE PRIDE in your beer so you grab that tulip glass, RAISE IT HIGH, and cheers to the INCREDIBLE LIFE that gave you the PRIVILEGE of drinking this beer!

I mean, Stella Artois does use a tulip glass in their advertising, so it’s completely justified.

So there you have it. Choose your glass wisely because you have a variety to choose from! From a Weizen glass to a Pilsner glass, your beer deserves to be treated like a Sir. Don’t let me down ladies & gents; I know you will make me proud with your beer-filled, fancy-named glasses.

From the delicious Angry Orchard’s Apple Crisp Cider to Weyerbacher’s Double Simcoe, this festival is taking the tasting of craft beers by storm. Here’s a little history behind the famous craft beer festival of NYC:
